His is a “rags to riches” story. Mr. T was a poor boy who grew up in a tough neighborhood riddled with murder and other crimes and went on to become a movie star. Not before doing Army service and working as a bodyguard, that is. Apparently, protecting Michael Jackson and Muhammad Ali led the actor to his most famous role – as Clubber Lang in “Rocky III.” With his African warrior do and gold jewelry, he went on to star in the TV series “The A-Team.” His subsequent film and TV projects never got to equal his turn on “Rocky III” though. These days, he’s been making cameos and appearing in commercials. Since being diagnosed with lymphoma, he has since put his acting career on a slow burn.
