The iconic 80s singer convinced girls to just have fun, with her colorful, edgy style and infectious pop tunes. Five of the songs off Cyndi Lauper’s first album, “So Unusual,” landed on the Billboard charts. She became a pop star overnight with her hit songs, such as “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and “Time After Time.” However, in the 90s, her career slowed down and took a back seat. Cyndi has since taken on Broadway, even winning a Grammy and Tony for her musical efforts, and has become an LGBT rights supporter.
