7 Little Things You Can Do Every Day to Improve Your Life
Believe us, you don’t need to dramatically change your lifestyle in order to achieve a better life as little steps could really go a long way. Contrary to popular belief, it is actually the small things you do each day that will improve your life big time. And as you make each a habit, there is a higher probability that your efforts would pay off, not to mention you make the much-awaited changes more noticeable than those you transform drastically.
And to help you with this “I-want-to-improve-my-life- now” program, we put these very little things that you can do each day and get ready to see huge changes not just in your lifestyle but also in your disposition in life.
1. Wear A Smile Even If Everybody Doesn’t.
Just like what Marilyn Monroe said, “Smile is the best makeup we could all wear.” It could also be the most precious gift you could ever give to someone. Wearing a smile, especially if worn sincerely and genuinely, can be really contagious, passing the good vibes unto others and suddenly making them feel better.
2. Make A Gratitude List.
It has been scientifically proven that listing down at least 10 things to be grateful for each day can do wonders in your life. Aside from the fact that it attracts positivity, it also imbibes profound appreciation to the blessings that you’ve received and heightens your motivation levels to succeed. The list could include being thankful for a Good Samaritan who returned your purse, for a lovely song you hear on your iPod, for the flowers in the garden, for a fellow who smiled at you, for a mouth-watering breakfast your wife/husband/mother prepared for you, etc.
3. Try To Stop Multi-tasking.
Do you feel you’re losing focus and concentration on many things in your life? Try this quick remedy. For the next couple of days, try doing things one at a time and see if it works for you. Staying focused on your current task lets you finish it more efficiently than shifting from one task to another. This has worked for me and my friends so we thought this could also work for you.
4. Find Time To Declutter.
This needs not to be a “one-time-big-time” task. You can begin by creating your “100 Days to Conquer Clutter Calendar”. Let’s say:
- Day 1: Declutter magazines and newspapers;
- Day 2: Declutter books;
- Day 3: Declutter the cupboard;
- Day 4: Declutter kitchen utensils;
- Day 5: Declutter appliances … and so on.
Learn how to let go of the things you don’t use or need anymore. This can also be a noble act since your “junk” may mean “treasures” to other people. Setting up a garage sale does not only spare you some space at home but also lets you make money.
5. Choose To Be Fit & Healthy.
You could start this by not skipping breakfast as it is the most important meal of the day, choosing fruits for a healthier snack, or making 10,000 steps each day to burn some calories. You could also opt to eliminate sweets or desserts from your meal, make drinking organic tea a habit, and add more greens to our plates. Doing simple cardio or yoga exercises at home for at least 15-30 minutes a day is likewise a good start.
6. Don’t Feel Guilty
This may excite most of us – imagine being guilt-free for sparing yourself from getting productive and busy at a particular time in a day. Oftentimes, not having a complete rest has become our least priority or not until we feel totally burnt out.
This shouldn’t be the case as it decreases your productivity and motivation levels. Asking why? Simple, you don’t have enough time to recharge and rejuvenate. Freeing your mind and giving your system ample time to recuperate are good practices. You’d be surprised that doing nothing even helps you get more things done.
Friendly reminder: Just don’t overdo this, okay? LOL.
7. Follow These Rules.
The list may seem very simple yet very effective, too. Being guided by these can let you live life to the fullest with no fuss or stress at all.
Life is what we make it. So, let’s strive harder to make it worth living. It’s the greatest gift, anyway!
