Millie was diagnosed when she was just four years old. And as early as nine, the freckled girl had already tried 12 different types of medication. Nothing that she tried had been able to control any of her previous seizures. According to studies, only 5% or 1 out of 20 people with refractory epilepsy actually get better every year. Because of her condition, Millie, at one point, had to be removed from regular schooling. Her parents also had to curtail her activities such as biking and roller skating so as to keep her healthy and safe.
