Donna Jacobs is one of the people who are a living testament to how seizure alert dogs can really change lives. After suffering a stroke at the age of 42, Donna began to have seizures which immobilized her in a way. That was until she adopted a puppy named Patra. When it was only six months old, the pooch started alerting her by head-butting her behind the knees around 20 minutes before every incoming episode. According to her interview with National Geographic, Jacobs feels like she’s been given a second chance at life just like how Millie was given hers with Elmo.
