All The Things You Didn’t Know About Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg is one of the most famous people in the world. It is amazing what he did until he reached the age of 33. He founded Facebook, a social network with more than a billion users and became a billionaire very fast. Furthermore, he donated huge amounts of money to charities and for medical research.
No matter how successful he is, we must remember that he is a human being, after all. This means that he is vulnerable and an ordinary man just like everyone else.
Here are some interesting facts you didn’t know about this amazing man!
He almost worked for Microsoft
While in senior high-school, Mark co-founded an application called Synapse Media Player, which is an mp3 player with features of tracking user’s favorite songs and making playlists based on their choices. Mark and Adam D’Angelo chose to go to college, instead of working for this tech giant.
He started inventing in the middle school
Mark Zuckerberg started his inventions when he was only 12 years old. He invented an instant messaging program, ZuckNet, which would enable his father, a dentist, to be informed when his patients arrived.
He has a surprising pop culture taste
One of his favorite books is The Aeneid, and his favorite TV show is The West Wing. The West Wing was created by Aaron Sorkin, who also wrote a movie based on the event of the creation of Facebook, called The Social Network.
He is a humble guy
Even though he is a billionaire and obviously a person who is likely to spend much money, he is known as a humble and frugal individual! In the interview with The New Yorker in 2010, he stated that he found all of his apartments on Craigslist.
He has red-green color blindness
This is the reason why logo of Facebook isn’t in any other color but blue!
He doesn’t want to sell Facebook
By now, he has turned down many attractive offers to sell Facebook. Companies such as Yahoo, NBC, Microsoft, Viacom, Myspace, NewsCorp, and Google wanted to buy this amazing social network, but Mark said NO.
He didn’t have a love story
When Zuckerberg met his current wife, Priscilla Chan, their first meeting was a little unlucky at the first. They actually met in line for a bathroom at a party at Harvard. But it turns out that it actually is a love story after all! They are parents now and enjoy life—the story just didn’t start as a fairy tale.
He loves Steve Jobs
As well as many other people in the world, Zuckerberg is inspired and motivated by Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple. He placed the message “I’m CEO, bitch” on his first business cards.
He tweets from time to time
Although not so often, he has tweeted many times since the year 2009. However, it is fascinating that he actually has an account! Did you get it – it is the Facebook owner on Twitter?
He laughs at himself
Not many people can laugh at themselves or the mistakes they make. Well, Mark is one of them. He is known for being a little awkward. He also posted on Facebook about Andy Samberg’s parody of him on Saturday Night Live.
He looks up to Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso
Zuckerberg is a huge admirer of these two people, and his two favorite quotes are: “Make things as simple as possible but no simpler,” said by Einstein and “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once you grow up,” said by Picasso. Hence he placed these two on his Facebook profile, too!
Even his dog is famous
Mark Zuckerberg has a Hungarian Sheepdog, who also has his own Facebook fan page, with more than 2 million likes. One of his greatest fans is Mark’s daughter, Max, whose first word was ‘dog’.
His page is managed by 12 people
Zuckerberg formed a team of 12 people to manage his Facebook account—comments, posts, photographs and similar stuff. And we do this by ourselves!
He is a friend of Vin Diesel
Diesel described this relationship in The New York Times and said “We were hanging out on Facebook about two years ago, and I was excited about Fast 7. He said, ‘You know what movie I’d most like to see? It is the return of Xander Cage’ Now if Mark and I are together and if I quote a line from a character I played and I do it slightly wrong, he’ll correct me. It’s embarrassing!”
