Jennifer Gates Says ‘I do’ – Gets Married to Nayel Nassar In Fairytale Wedding

Needless to say, for the special occasion, you wouldn’t want to settle for anything less than perfect. And if you’re the daughter of one of the richest men in the world, well, how dare anything be any less than perfect!

Jennifer Gates, the eldest daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates, got hitched to her boyfriend of 5 years, Nayel Nassar on October 16, 2021. The intimate ceremony was held in Westchester County, New York, and though it took place outside a local farm, nothing about it was ordinary. And we mean that in a good way!

What did the bride wear?

Considering how simple and elegant Jennifer usually is, for her most special occasion, she chose an ivory-colored custom A-line gown by Vera Wang Haute. We just have to say this – the dress was breathtakingly beautiful! Crafted in an utterly romantic design, it sported intricate appliqué handiwork along with French macrame lacing on the upper part, coupled with palm-length sleeves and Italian tulle skirt. Her veil was a whole other story in itself!

To complete her bridal look, Jennifer picked a chapel-length tulle veil that matched her skirt and was laced with identical French macrame and appliqué handiwork as her bodice. The mesmerizing pictures the new bride shared on her Instagram gave a glimpse into just how happy and excited the couple was on beginning the new chapter of their lives.

In an interview with Vogue, the blushing bride admitted that planning the wedding amidst medical school rotations and without her fiancé by her side was challenging, but it was all worth it! FYI, Nassar is an equestrian who was competing at the Olympics at the time.

Two days before the wedding, on October 14, Bill Gates landed via chopper in NYC alongside relatives. Melinda Gates was already in the city with daughter, and on October 13, the duo was snapped visiting the Plaza Hotel. A month before the d-day, the mother of the bride threw an elaborate celebration for her daughter, where female friends and relatives were invited.

Post the get together, Jennifer shared pictures on her Instagram along with a heartfelt “thank you” note for all the ladies present. She said she was grateful for the support, love, and advice she’d received from all of them.

The wedding was followed by a lavish reception which featured a guest-list of 300+ guests. To enrich the evening, Harry Hudson and Coldplay played some awesome tunes live!

Jennifer and Nayel are both Stanford graduates and began dating in 2017. Both connect with each other on various levels, their love for horses being a joy they share. While Nayel is a professional equestrian, Jennifer admits to being an amateur.
