Ever since Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s baby boy was born, he’s all over the news. And now it seems that the media has found a new reason to shine the spotlight on the newborn. With the couple naming him August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, everyone is excited and appreciative of the choice.

Why the name ‘August Philip Hawke Brooksbank’

On February 20, 2021, Princess Eugenie shared a post on Instagram introducing her son as August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. She posted three photos with her family while thanking all the well-wishers by writing a heartfelt line declaring her love for August.

The couple revealed that August’s middle name Philip is in honor of Eugenie’s grandfather Prince Philip who is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital. FYI Prince Philip was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure after he complained about feeling unwell. According to an insider, the Duke is in good health right now.

Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, are known for their unique relationship with their grandparents. As such, it was only natural for Eugenie to take this bond to another level by settling at the Frogmore Cottage which is situated very close to Windsor castle.

Deets on the little one’s arrival

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who got married in October 2018, announced on September 25, 2020, that they were expecting a child in early 2021. The excited couple shared a sweet note on Instagram along with a fluffy pair of bear slippers.

On February 9, 2021, an official statement confirmed that the Princess had given birth to a baby boy at 8:55 am at Portland Hospital in London in the presence of her husband. Just FYI, this is the same hospital where Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their son, Archie Harrison. And you’d be surprised to know that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice also took birth at this hospital. In all fairness, it wouldn’t be wrong to call it a family hospital, right?

Princess Eugenie delivered August through a C-section because of her spinal surgery for scoliosis. According to a close spokesperson, both mother and child are fine and the Princess is very content and happy.
