Space travel isn’t an entirely new concept today. However, the chance of experiencing this amazing activity is still limited to a small number of people. This is why Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa’s offer is all the more appealing. According to sources, the 44-year-old bachelor is on the hunt for a special lady to take on a once in a lifetime trip in outer space.

Space Companion Wanted

To qualify to apply for the exciting experience, women must be single and over 20 years old. Maezawa’s search for a companion to the moon is reportedly part of a new documentary program he’s doing.

The voyage is due to happen in 2023 with the entrepreneur being the first private passenger of SpaceX, which is Elon Musk’s brainchild. He’s previously announced that he would be joined by up to eight other artist passengers on a trip around the moon. It’s still unclear whether one of these seats would now be reserved for the winner of the current search.

As Maezawa writes, he thinks about ‘continuing to love one woman’ as he experiences emptiness and loneliness in life. What more, he says he’s looking to find a ‘life partner’ It can be remembered that the businessman was last linked to Ayame Goriki, a 27-year-old Japanese actress and model.

Upcoming Documentary

The documentary that would chronicle the event will reportedly be streamed on the Japanese video streaming website, AbemaTV. The project is titled, ‘Full Moon Lovers’. The platform’s target audience is the younger set, which has been moving away from traditional television. AbemaTv is also notably backed by TV Asahi Corporation as well as media company CyberAgent.

Aside from the age requirement, applicants are required to be ‘interested in going into’ and to someone who desires world peace. A love diagnostic test has also been added to the search’s website to determine whether a person is compatible with the billionaire.

Applications will remain open until the 17th of January with the lucky one being chosen at the end of March. According to reports, more than 20,000 people have already applied to become Maezawa’s special date to the moon.

Maezawa pledged to give a million yen to 1,000 Twitter followers.

Some news outlets are calling the businessman’s search an ‘attention-grabbing stunt’. It can be remembered that Maezawa made waves online earlier in the year when he announced on Twitter that he is giving away ¥1 billion ($9 million) to his followers. The gesture was reportedly an attempt on his part to begin a debate about the positives of the idea of basic income in the Asian country. The tweet has been retweeted more than four million times.
