Chrissy Teigen Opens Up About Late Son Jack. Says The Family Travels With His Ashes!

In case you weren’t aware, model and TV personality Chrissy Teigen and husband John Legend announced on 30th September 2020, that they lost their pregnancy with unborn son Jack.

As Teigen (35) still recovers from her loss, in an exclusive interview with parenting site Scary Mommy, she has revealed heart-wrenching details about how her family keeps baby Jack’s memory alive.

Teigen has shared that her family travels with Jack’s ashes! A practice in which Teigen, her husband as well as their kids, Luna (5) and Miles (3), like to get involved. It helps them remember that Jack is still around them.

Chrissy mentions…

Whenever the family goes on vacations, Luna and Miles always make it a point to carry Jack’s ashes. They say, “don’t forget baby Jack”, and then the sad mother has to pack him along too. Teigen further says that whenever they reach their final destination, the kids make it a point to check on the ashes.

It might sound a little too weird and crazy to many people but, the actual words her kids use are, “Jack must be thirsty!” Later, they place a glass of water in front of the little box and feel relieved thinking they’re taking care of their little brother.

The Cravings cookbook author, Teigen explains it was extremely hard to break the news of Jack’s loss to the kids. At first, the couple didn’t know how to do it. But luckily, their kids were extremely strong and thoughtful. Once they overcame the initial shock, they were convinced that the unborn baby didn’t make it, but they strongly believed that he was around them in the form of his ashes. Teigen states it was a ray of hope to them, a story they’ll remember forever.

A heartbreaking message for Jack

In September 2021, Teigen remembered her late son with a heartfelt message on Instagram which said that a year ago he gave her the greatest pain of her life! She was broken and didn’t know how to survive, but Jack gave her the courage and made her believe that she was stronger than this.

Teigen knew that eventually she’ll move on, even if she didn’t want to. She felt sorry and stated that she was heartbroken that she and her family didn’t get the opportunity to take care of the lost soul. But looking at the bigger picture, Jack made her realize that life is beautiful and full of miracles.

Losing a child is the toughest and most heart-wrenching moment for a mother. It brings the kind of pain, trauma, and sorrow that no one can ever imagine. We can’t even imagine what poor Chrissy and her entire family would have gone through a year ago, and what they’re enduring even today. All we can say is, stay strong. We wish her all the best!
